The town of South Berwick, Maine is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Town Manager. South Berwick, located in Southern Maine on the New Hampshire border, has a population of 7400, a five-member Town Council/Town Manager form of government, with a municipal budget of $7 million and 35 FT employees and numerous PT employees. It has a long, rich history and was voted “one of the best places to raise children.”

The Town Manager is the Administrative head of all town operations, and holds several other statutory municipal offices. The Council is seeking candidates with:

Strong budgeting and financial management experience

Personnel Management and Labor relations experience

Experience with infrastructure maintenance, construction and financing

Long range planning and project management

Knowledge of Public Works operations

A successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent communication and public relations skills, leadership and supervisory experience and a commitment to open and collaborative management. The Council is seeking an individual with a degree in public or business administration or a related field, and previous municipal management experience.
