The town of Easton is seeking a compassionate, innovative, and community-minded professional to serve as our Community Services Program Manager. This important role will help residents navigate challenging circumstances, connect people with entitled benefits, programs, and resources, and ensure that every member of our community is treated with dignity, respect, and care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying programs, grants, and benefits available to residents, businesses and other civic groups at the local, state and federal levels; overseeing the assessments of individuals’ eligibility for public benefits and assisting individuals and staff in understanding the public benefits residents may be eligible for; ensuring referrals to appropriate agencies; ensuring individuals are supported in applying for and enrolling in public benefits and other financial assistance programs they are eligible for; creating and maintaining, or otherwise identifying and promoting, public-facing website and/or other resources and works with municipal and community groups to increase awareness and access to those programs; supporting staff in making home visits to homebound or unserved residents; supporting and providing input on the transportation program; supporting the Council on Aging by providing guidance and facilitating meetings on a regular basis, including posting agendas and taking meeting minutes.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and two to three years of administrative or professional experience in social service or human services field. Experience and/or ability to work with diverse populations. Demonstrated experience in working with case management, public benefit screenings, and/or grant writing is beneficial; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain certification as a SHIP/SHINE Counselor. The successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and provide a copy of their driving record prior to hire.
This is a salaried, union position with excellent pay, benefits and municipal pension system. Anticipated hiring range is $85,997.60 – 89,473.28, depending on qualifications, full career range is $120,417.44.
