Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Hybrid schedule – two in office days each week required)
The Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) is a quasi-independent government authority created to reform the process of funding capital improvement projects in the Commonwealth’s public schools. The MSBA strives to work with local communities to create affordable, sustainable, and energy efficient schools across Massachusetts.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Treasurer is a senior member of the Finance department. This role involves a high degree of responsibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, with accuracy being essential due to the role’s financial significance.
The Treasurer is responsible for all MSBA funds and investments, managing cash and investment activities, banking relationships, and cash flows in a fiscally prudent manner and in accordance with applicable state laws and MSBA policies. The Treasurer reports on MSBA cash and investment balances, debt, receipts and disbursement of funds and manages the MSBA’s debt portfolio including overseeing the issuance of new debt and realizing debt savings by optimizing refunding opportunities.
