CITY OF METHUEN
POSITION: Treasurer / Tax Collector
Pursuant to the provisions of the revised ordinances of the City of Methuen, Chapter 6, Sec. 6-23: the Mayor announces the following vacancy in the Office of the Treasurer/Tax Collector.
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, the Treasurer/Collector is responsible for: receipt, expenditure and custody of all municipal funds, managing the city’s debt service, issuance of bonds, and custody of tax title properties and collection of money due to the city.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; three years related work experience in municipal financial management; three years supervisory experience.
Certified Massachusetts Municipal Treasurer/Collector highly preferred. Candidate must be bondable.
