The town of Groveland seeks a Treasurer/Collector. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, appointed by and reporting to the Finance Director and managing of a PT (20 hrs./wk.) Ass’t. Treasurer/Collector.
The Treasurer/Collector will perform technical and administrative work involving the collection of taxes, cash management, review/approval of departmental payroll, wire transfers to fund payroll and AP warrant disbursements, reconciliation of checking accounts with the Town Accountant’s general ledger, preparation of departmental budget, assisting the Finance Director with all borrowings, management of short and long-term investments, filing of tax titles and Federal/State report filing as related to payroll.
Associate’s degree required with bachelor’s degree preferred in finance, accounting, banking or a related field or five years of experience as a Treasurer/Collector or Assistant Treasurer/Collector, or some similar combination of education, and experience. Distinguishing qualifications include experience with Vadar software and Harper’s Payroll system’s, and Certification by the Mass. Treasurer/Collector Association. Must be bondable.
