The town of Norfolk is seeking applicants for a Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for fleet operations, preventative and demand maintenance, specifications for vehicles and equipment, overall employee supervision and the instituting of safety standards.

The incumbent provides budget recommendations for fleet operations, deals with authorized dealers, contractors, vendors to secure equipment and vehicles, and purchase equipment and vehicles for the fleet,

The incumbent also approves requisitions, purchase orders, and maintains warranties, licenses and registrations for all vehicles.

This position reports directly to the DPW Director.

The successful candidate is required to have graduated from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of technical school training in automotive repair plus seven years’ experience of automotive repair and maintenance and a minimum of three years supervisory experience.

This position requires a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle license. A MA Class B driver’s license (CDL) and MA Hoisting license preferred, but not required.
