The Waste Water Treatment Plant Equipment Repair Technician performs skilled technical mechanical work in connection with maintenance of mechanical equipment and pump systems at the wastewater facilities; performs different types of maintenance, repair work and manual labor; drives CDL vehicles and maintains/improves upon the efficiency/effectiveness of all areas.
Requires a HS Diploma/GED with two to five years of advanced training/experience in Waste Water Treatment Plant maintenance and operation systems plus mechanical/plumbing work experience, heavy vehicle driving experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Certification is preferred. Must operate a computer and utilize maintenance management software. Requires a valid driver’s license; have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes endorsement and Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer license with 2A and 1C endorsements. Requires frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
FT 40 hour per week AFSCME Union position Monday–Friday (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) plus required overtime. Starting pay $25.12/hour plus stipends and benefits.
