The town of Dennis seeks a full-time Wastewater Superintendent. This position is responsible for providing efficient and effective collection and treatment of wastewater from the town’s sewer system, as well as to protect the environment by producing a high-quality effluent from the town’s Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF).

The work involves understanding the physical make up, operation and performance characteristics of the wastewater system to comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations related to the collection, treatment and discharge of treated effluent; responding appropriately to customer interest, concerns and complaints; undertaking light to heavy construction work; supervising the utilization of personnel, materials and equipment; overseeing wastewater projects; maintenance, repair, and replacement, and controlling inventories of parts, materials and equipment.

Education and Experience: Bachelor of science in civil engineering, public or business administration, or related field. A minimum of five years of experience in the field relating to the construction, repair and maintenance of wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities, including the operation of related maintenance and mechanical equipment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements: Valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Minimum of a Commonwealth Grade 6-C (six combined) Wastewater Treatment License; Preferred Commonwealth Grade 7-C (seven combined) Wastewater Treatment License; Grade 4 (four) Collection System certification.
