General Information: WATER EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

DPW – WATER DIVISION

AFSCME LOCAL 1703 – GRADE 5A FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK)

FULL PAY RANGE: $29.37 TO $36.47 PER HOUR ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $29.37 TO $33.63 PER HOUR

Position Overview:

• Performs sub-surface explorations of water mains and services for condition and material
• Makes repairs and performs maintenance of facilities – pumps. piping, machinery and structures
• Collects complete and accurate water system records
• Inspects, installs and repairs water meters and hydrants
• Works under the direction of the Chief Operator
• Installs and repairs water mains and services
• Conducts water sampling and other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Possession of a MA Class B CDL Vehicle License
• Possession of a MA Class 2A Hydraulics License
