The Wellesley Department of Public Works is currently seeking a Water/Sewer Systems Engineer. Reporting to the Water & Sewer Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, the Water/Sewer Systems Engineer oversees the design, construction and repair of water treatment and water distribution facilities and of wastewater pumping and collection facilities.

The minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field, from an accredited institution; possession of valid Grade 2 Treatment and Distribution full or OIT (Operator in Training) certificates issued by the Board of Certification of Operators of Drinking Water Supply Facilities, or ability to get the required certificates within twelve months; five years’ experience in water and/or sewer system engineering; and three years’ experience with SCADA, PLC and civil engineering computer applications including CAD and GIS. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of applicable engineering practices; familiarity with engineering computer applications, including CAD; effective oral and written communications and interpersonal skills; and a valid driver’s license.
