Water Treatment Plant Manager
Under general direction of the Water Commissioners and the daily supervision of the Water Superintendent, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties associated with technical and supervisory work in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, pump station, ground water supply, water storage tank as well as water mains, fire hydrants and gate valves. Work involves responsibility for setting and maintaining water quality and production goals, implementing and monitoring daily operations, planning and scheduling personnel, and the preparation and filing of required reports both with the Mass DEP, Mass DPH, NPDES to EPA as well as in-house reports as necessary. Work is performed with considerable independence. Participates with rotating on call to provide routine 24-hour standby and actual coverage of Water Treatment/Filtration Plant on rotating basis, including weekend coverage, as required by law. Weekend and Holiday coverage (4 hours) when on call. This position serves as the primary operator.
