Town of Medway seeks a full-time 40 hour Working Supervisor who will report directly to the Superintendent of Highway and Fleet Maintenance. This is a Union position which includes supervisory and performance functions.
The Supervisor will oversee and perform the operation, administration and maintenance of the town’s assets as they relate to the daily roadway and public right-of-way maintenance activities including the storm water management program, as well as daily operations of related Division programs. The individual is responsible for responding to employee/contractor issues as well as the service requests of residents to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
This position provides the performance of work and supervision of programs and personnel engaged in the maintenance and construction programs for the town’s roadway and right-of-way maintenance including: other public grounds; street signs, traffic signs/signals, and public shade trees; enforces rules, regulations, laws and ordinances relating to Federal Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Five to seven years of qualified experience in the profession as a construction equipment operator, or equivalent, with a portion of that time performing in a leadership role. Must have demonstrated proficiency in the skilled and semi-skilled construction techniques. Considerable experience and training in the operation of all types of assigned motor equipment utilized by the town. Must possess a valid Mass. Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air-brake endorsement and a good driving record (a class A license is preferred). Must possess a Mass. Hoisting Engineer’s License with appropriate endorsements to operate the complete line of DPW equipment.
