The town of Andover seeks creative, energized and dynamic applicants for a variety of temporary (approx. 6 to 9 months) positions in our Youth Services Division to assist with the implementation and management of youth development, recreational, educational and cultural programs for youths between the ages of 11-19.
As an integral and collaborative division under the Community Services Department (including Recreation, Elder Services, Veteran’s Services and Andover DIVERSE), the Youth Services Division plans and coordinates special events, and develops new programs specifically geared toward youth development and enrichment. Functions and events are held primarily at the Cormier Youth Center Building, but opportunities for a variety of off-site field trips and programming also exist.
The successful candidate will possess at minimum a bachelor’s degree in recreation, sociology, psychology, youth development or related field; five to 10 years of demonstrated work with youth including direct supervision of staff; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Flexible hours available during the core time period of M-F, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Additional weekend hours may be available depending upon scheduled programming and needs. Salary: $50-60 per hour, commensurate with experience. These are temporary positions and are not eligible for benefits.
Applicants must love working with youth, and flexibility is a plus.
