The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of ZONING INSPECTOR for the Department of Inspectional Services.
Inspectional and technical work in assisting the Director of Inspectional Services in the processing of applications and the issuance of permits with the interpretation and in the enforcement of the town zoning bylaws. Inspects and reviews plans for all building sites and alterations to buildings under construction and completion to monitor compliance with town zoning bylaws. Conducts road inspections as requested by the Planning Board; conducts wetland inspections requested by Conservation Department. Maintains zoning inspection records. Investigates and researches complaints of alleged zoning bylaw violations and prepares reports.
High school graduate with three years of experience in building construction or design or engineering or survey work; college course work in a field related to building construction or design preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operators License required.
