Real estate developers, investors, planning and public policy experts, and local officials from across New England will meet in Boston to share ideas, create new business deals, discuss smart growth issues, and prepare for the future of smart growth development at the 2018 LOCUS New England Leadership Summit on Oct. 24 at the Boston Society for Architects.

Speakers at the full-day conference will discuss new federal tax incentives, Opportunity Zones, market trends for walkable urban places in New England, planning for coastal resilience, and more.

Speakers include Housing and Economic Development Secretary Jay Ash, Housing Choice Program Director Chris Kluchman, MassHousing Executive Director Chrystal Kornegay, and Housing and Community Development Undersecretary Janelle Chan.

This year, for the first time, the summit will host a Development and Investment Showcase, where municipalities will have a chance to exhibit their shovel-ready development sites to dozens of real estate professionals.

LOCUS MA encourages the nomination of projects and developers to be recognized for their efforts in improving neighborhoods and cities around the region.

The LOCUS Leadership Summit is approved for 8.5 continuing education credits from APA New England for planners needing to maintain their certifications.
