Registration is now open for the MMA’s spring Legislative Breakfast Meetings which will be held in March in Fairhaven, Gardner, Hudson, Newburyport, Palmer and Pittsfield.

Local leaders can meet with state legislators who represent their communities as well as MMA staff for an event of networking, exchanging information, and discussing issues of importance in state and local government in an informal atmosphere.

The spring meetings are an opportune time to weigh in on Gov. Charlie Baker’s proposed fiscal 2019 state budget before the House and Senate draft their own budget bills for the coming year.

Other topics expected to be discussed are the recreational marijuana regulations due by March 15, the governor’s new Housing Choice Initiative, a new law that extends Occupational Safety and Health Administration protections to public workers, and other legislative issues.

A continental breakfast will be provided by the MMA at 8 a.m. Introductions will begin at 8:15, followed by presentations and Q&A. The meetings will end by 10 a.m.
