The MMA family and local officials across the state are mourning the loss of a dear friend, David Costa, who died unexpectedly at his home in Grafton on Sunday, Jan. 11, at age 51.

As the MMA’s conference and meeting coordinator for the past nine years, David was known by local officials across the state for his professionalism and grace under pressure. He was integral to the success of the MMA’s Annual Meeting each year, an event that consistently draws more than 1,000 local officials and hundreds of others.

David was universally admired and appreciated by his colleagues at the MMA, for whom he always had a bright smile and a kind word. He is deeply missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 5-7:30 p.m., at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (Route 138) in Taunton. A service will follow at the funeral home, led by a local pastor.
