SUMMARY:Energy Outlook with Constellation webinar
DESCRIPTION:The MMA and its partner in the MunEnergy program\, Constellation\, will host a free webinar on April 8 to reset the energy landscape following New England’s 16th coldest winter on record\, and to analyze what these shifts mean for municipal power procurement strategies.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe webinar will also cover the impacts of weather on New England wholesale prices for power and natural gas\; natural gas fundamentals\, including storage\, production and natural gas demand drivers\; upcoming spring and summer temperatures\; and how to be strategic in today’s energy market.\\n\\n\\n\\nFeatured speakers will be Brandon Fong\, principal of Constellation’s Commodities Management Group\, and Bill Bartlett\, Constellation’s Senior Relationship Manager.\\n\\n\\n\\nConstellation has been MMA’s endorsed supplier for MunEnergy\, the MMA’s municipal energy program\, for more than two decades. SUMMARY:The Top 10 Wishlist of the Internal Customer webinar
DESCRIPTION:An MMA webinar on April 15 will cover how managers can best support their staff by understanding their needs.\\n\\n\\n\\nMunicipal leaders and staff are expected to perform with a high level of skill and grace\, but consistently high performance can be impossible if staff don’t feel valued. It’s a common mistake for management to make decisions about what will make their staff happy\, but employees\, like their managers\, want to decide what they need to be successful in their work.\\n\\n\\n\\nThis webinar will explore the “top 10 wishlist of the internal customer\,” moving beyond management assumptions to identify what employees actually require to thrive. By understanding the needs of the “internal customer\,” municipalities can better support the teams responsible for public service.\\n\\n\\n\\nThe webinar will be led by Stephen Coleman\, the fire chief and assistant town manager in Auburn\, who has led talks nationally on customer service and leadership.\\n\\n\\n\\nOnline registration is available for the 75-minute webinar\, which will begin at noon. Only MMA members may register. MMA members include elected officials and municipal employees from MMA member communities across the state. Media members are not permitted to attend.

SUMMARY:Budget Communication Webinar

SUMMARY:MMA Virtual Municipal Leadership Academy Webinar: Performance Management
DESCRIPTION:Many tend to think of performance management as conducting annual performance reviews and addressing poor performance. In fact\, managing all staff performance\, including excellent performance\, helps minimize the incidents in which we must take disciplinary action.\\n\\n\\n\\nIn this highly interactive VMLA workshop\, Lyn Freundlich* of Change for Good Coaching and Consulting will engage participants in activities and breakout discussions to:\\n\\n\\n\\n Learn about the performance continuum\\n\\n Consider ways to effectively manage performance along that continuum\\n\\n Develop a specific performance management strategy to support an individual team member’s success\\n\\n\\n\\nDue to popular demand\, we are hosting another workshop on this topic. The cost is $45 per session\, which is a deeply discounted rate thanks to the generous support of the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA).Please only register for one session as they cover the same content. This workshop is designed for supervisors and department heads and is lengthier than the normal training due to the in-depth material being offered.\\n\\n\\n\\nPlease note this workshop will be held as a Zoom meeting\, rather than a webinar. Participants should remain on screen with cameras on but muted unless participating in a group discussion or breakout session. Redistribution of the workshop’s Zoom link or recording to individuals other than the purchaser is not permitted. Attendees without documentation of registration will be removed. Thank you for your cooperation.\\n\\n\\n\\n*Lyn Freundlich has over 30 years of experience working with mission-oriented nonprofits\, focusing on justice. She founded Change for Good Coaching and Consulting in February 2021 to provide training and consulting services to nonprofit organizations and small businesses. Lyn is a Certified Professional Coach\, has consulted with over 100 nonprofits\, and has trained thousands of supervisors and staff. She believes that employees are an organization's greatest asset and is passionate about helping individuals make meaningful changes in their work and personal lives.
