Municipal Directory updates begin this month

Printer-friendly versionSend by email

The chief municipal officials in all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns will receive a letter this month as the MMA begins its process of gathering current information from municipalities for the 2017-2018 edition of the Massachusetts Municipal Directory, a comprehensive resource for connecting with colleagues.

The introductory letters will explain when to expect an email with a link, username and password for updating the community’s information using a convenient online tool.

The online form is pre-populated with the personnel information currently on file with the MMA and only takes a few minutes to update by the person most familiar with a city or town’s personnel.

Towns will receive the email with the link to the online update form within weeks of their spring election, while cities will receive the email by the end of April.

The MMA’s annual directory includes listings of local officials and contact information, as well as demographic and financial data, for all of the state’s cities and towns. There are also sections devoted to regional school districts, state and federal government, and government-related professional organizations, as well as a guide to products and services of interest to city and town officials.

The new edition of the directory will be published in August.
