Officials asked to update community information for directory

City and town officials across the Commonwealth rely on the MMA’s annual Massachusetts Municipal Directory as a comprehensive resource for connecting with colleagues.

The MMA is currently soliciting updates from municipalities for the 2017-2018 edition.

As of May 19, 103 communities had updated their directory information using the convenient online tool.

Emails are being sent to chief municipal officials in each community, including a link to the tool and a username and password. The email has been sent to all cities. Towns receive the email shortly after their annual election.

Chief municipal officials in cities, and in towns that have held elections, are asked to contact the MMA as soon as possible if they have not received the directory update email.

The online form is pre-populated with the personnel information currently on file with the MMA and only takes a few minutes to update by the person most familiar with a city or town’s personnel.

The MMA’s annual directory includes listings of local officials and contact information, as well as demographic and financial data, for all of the state’s cities and towns. There are also sections devoted to regional school districts, state and federal government, and government-related professional organizations, as well as a guide to products and services of interest to city and town officials.

The new edition of the directory will be published in August.
