Housing and Economic Development Secretary Jay Ash and Undersecretary of Housing and Community Development Chrystal Kornegay will lead an interactive discussion on local housing needs at the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association’s Annual Business Meeting, to be held during the MMA Annual Meeting on Saturday, Jan. 20.
In Massachusetts, town housing needs are diverse and changing rapidly. What worked 10 years ago may no longer meet the needs of citizens across the Commonwealth.
Selectmen and issue experts will break into groups to discuss housing resources and opportunities, including Chapter 40R (the Smart Growth Zoning Overlay District Act), MassWorks, workforce housing, cross-generational housing, and more.
The business portion of the meeting will include voting on the proposed slate of officers for 2018 and discussing association goals for the new year.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10 a.m. in Ballroom C on the third floor of the Hynes Convention Center.
