The deadline is April 28.
This round of the grant program makes $2 million available to help ensure that host communities are ready to host World Cup-related events, including matches at Boston Stadium, the official FIFA Fan Festival in Boston, official tournament hotels, and team training sites.
Massachusetts will host seven World Cup matches between June 13 and July 9.
Municipalities may apply for funding to support public safety expenses connected to the events.
The first round of the Sports and Entertainment Events Fund grant program awarded $10 million to 17 communities.
