Trade Show to include new Learning Labs

Attendees at the 2018 Annual Meeting & Trade Show will have the opportunity to meet with companies, government agencies and associations whose cost-saving, innovative and informative ideas, products and services help with the delivery of municipal services.
The 200-plus exhibitors will be at the Trade Show on Friday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Trade Show is located on the second floor of the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
A new Learning Lab program will be held in the Auditorium beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20. Sessions will be 30 minutes long, with a 10-minute break between sessions, concluding at 1:45 p.m.
The following is the list of topics:
• EME and Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions for Municipalities, presented by Constellation
• Taxes – A Softer Sell, presented by Invoice Cloud
• “I Pay Your Salary,” presented by MIIA
• Women and Minorities in Public Works: NEAPWA Survey Results, presented by the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association’s Diversity Committee
• Taming the OPEB Beast: Latest Trends in Investing, Managing and Funding Retiree Health Care, presented by Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS)

Also new at the Trade Show this year will be:
• The MIIA Wellness Group in booth 1006
• The MIIA Risk Management Group in booth 906
A popular returning feature is the MIIA Safe-Driving Training Simulator, where attendees can test their skills and schedule an appointment to have the simulator visit their community for public-safety driver training.
MMA and MIIA staff members will be available at their respective booths, located at the entrance to Hall C.
