Job Description

The city of Watertown, a thriving community of 36,000 residents in Greater Boston’s inner core with a general fund budget of $223 million, seeks a highly qualified skilled professional to join the management team as the Treasurer/Collector. Appointed by the City Manager, the Treasurer/Collector is a key member of the city’s financial team and is responsible for the efficient administration of the Treasurer/Collector’s office. The successful candidate must possess high integrity, management skills, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead an established customer-service-focused department staff.

HOURS: This is a 37.5 hour/week position: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays; and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays, with required availability for occasional night meeting attendance. One day of remote work per week a possibility subject to City Manager approval. 

SALARY: This is a non-union position with an annual 17 step salary range of $126,998 to $174,342. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications, experience and education; applicants are typically hired in the lower half of the range.
