The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities on June 25 launched a new statewide housing production tracker to provide insights into housing development progress across the Commonwealth.
The tracker allows residents, researchers and local officials to see housing production data for every city and town in Massachusetts. The tool provides the first statewide picture of housing deliveries in all Massachusetts communities and will be updated annually.
According to the tracker, Massachusetts added 34,561 homes in 2025, or 15.6% of the administration’s goal of 222,000 additional housing units by 2035.
The tracker, which pulls data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Address Count Listing files, measures progress in each municipality and across 13 regions by evaluating changes in residential addresses.
The tracker also spotlights housing development projects around the Commonwealth, along with tracker FAQs.
Housing and Livable Communities says it will update the tracker annually, with the Census Bureau updating the Address Count Listing files twice per year.
