The town of Becket is seeking a full-time, seasoned paramedic, to run and be accountable for the Becket Ambulance Department. Becket is a rural community in Berkshire County and the ambulance serves the town of Becket and the town of Washington primary response. The service is currently serving an area between 2,000 and 3,000 people and the department consists of approximately 18-20 emergency response personnel with a mixture of full time and per diem and operates at the paramedic level.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years of progressive experience as a practicing paramedic with at least two years in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The candidate is required to have a class D motor vehicle driver’s license, a current certification as a Massachusetts Paramedic with active, unrestricted medical control. The candidate will need a thorough knowledge of the principals and practices of local emergency response techniques, operational practices, local, state and federal regulations, as well as knowledge of the principals and practices of administration and management.
Starting pay $35.00-$45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
