Applications are now being accepted for two funding opportunities available to communities: the Municipal Fleet Safety Grant Program and the Stormwater MS4 Municipal Assistance Grant Program.

Municipal Fleet Safety Grant Program
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is accepting applications through Oct. 30 for its Municipal Fleet Safety Grant Program, a new $1 million grant opportunity supporting safety improvements to municipal fleet vehicles.

Massachusetts cities and towns may apply for up to $75,000 to purchase and install eligible safety equipment on Class 3-8 municipal vehicles, including side guards, mirrors, backup cameras, and 360-degree camera systems.

Program information, eligibility requirements, and application guidance are available online. Questions may be directed to [email protected].

Stormwater MS4 Municipal Assistance Grant Program
Fiscal 2027 Request for Responses (RFR) are being accepted through Oct. 9 for the Stormwater MS4 Municipal Assistance Grant Program.

The program, introduced in 2017, enables groups of Massachusetts municipalities to expand their efforts to meet the requirements of the 2016 Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permits and reduce stormwater pollution through coordinated partnerships that emphasize resource sharing.
