Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation President Doug Howgate

Local finance committee members are invited to the Association of Town Finance Committees’ Annual Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Foxborough Community Center.

The opening session will feature a panel discussion with MMA Executive Director Adam Chapdelaine and Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation President Doug Howgate to discuss the current fiscal climate and how it is impacting local budgets, including an increase in Proposition 2½ overrides.

The meeting will continue with four educational workshops, running concurrently during two time slots, on the following topics: budgeting 101, overrides and alternative options, deconstructing the school budget, and financial trend monitoring.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

All local officials are welcome to attend. The cost is $65 for dues-paying ATFC finance committee members and $75 for nonmember finance co

mmittee members and other local officials.

The full agenda and online registration are available on www.mma.org.

As a reminder, the 2025 edition of the Finance Committee Handbook was published last October and is available at no cost to all ATFC members. Email Kat Christy at [email protected] to request your digital copy.
