Norwell seeks a motivated, customer service-driven and tech savvy administrative assistant for a full-time (37.5 hours) position providing clerical support for the Water Superintendent, Board of Water Commissioners, and department staff and handling resident requests and questions. Office is located at our beautiful new Town Hall (93 Longwater Circle). Responsible for administration of all town water accounts for residential, commercial, and municipal town properties, including four quarterly billing commitments and scheduling appointments for final reads and meter replacements. Prepares weekly payroll; processes vendor invoices, handles receivables; and tracks department attendance. Associate degree with one to three years’ experience in an office setting with billing operations experience desired. Must be highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Work, Outlook and municipal software. Possess mathematical ability to calculate figures, credits, discounts and charges for abatements. Applicant must have effective verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service oriented, multi-tasking and time management organization, decision -making, presentation and office management skills. Position is affiliated with SEIU 888. Hourly rate of $25.54 to starts; increases to $26.05 effective July 1, 2026 and every year moving forward (14 steps means opportunity for financial growth).
