ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER-FULL-TIME -37 HOURS – SALARY RANGE $1,026.21 – $1,299.98 weekly
Performs enforcement and animal care work relating to the administration of all relevant state statutes and town bylaws governing the control and regulation of animals within the town.
Enforces leash, license and rabies laws; enforces quarantines; ensures that adoptable animals are spayed, neutered and vaccinated. Responds to emergencies involving domestic and wild animals as manager of a department that is on-call 24/7. Removes sick, injured or rabid animals. Interview applicants for adoption to endure animals go to responsible homes; develops and presents education programs for school children, scout groups and customers regarding pet ownership and stray or sick animals. Maintains required logs; prepares reports and statistics; prepares and handles court complains; prepare documents for hearings and attend hearings; supervises staff including full and part-time employees.
