Job Description

The town of Reading is hiring an Animal Control Officer in the Health Department.

Hiring Rate: $41.84 per hour
Schedule: Per diem

General Summary

Assumes overall responsibility for the Animal Control Program of the town. Performs a variety of duties required to ensure the enforcement of all town bylaws related to animal control as well as the licensing and up to date rabies vaccinations of all dogs.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  2. Minimum of six months to one year of progressively responsible experience working with animals; or
  3. Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.
