The town of Randolph seeks an Assistant Building Commissioner/Inspector. This position assists the Building Commissioner, who is the chief administrative officer of the town’s Building Department, in providing administrative, supervisory and inspection work related to the enforcement and interpretation of local and state building codes and permitting. Assists with building and occupancy permitting process and enforcement of the local Zoning Ordinance. Performs inspections for permitting and compliance. This position has the potential for advancement to Building Commissioner within an approximate time frame of 24 months.
Successful candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree or master craftsman level of knowledge, five years of experience in residential and commercial building construction or trades, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. In addition, the candidate should possess a valid driver’s license, Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License, State Certification as a Local Inspector, and Certification by the Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) as a Building Commissioner/Inspector of Buildings (within two years of the date of hire). Salary Range: $79,580-$104,722 per year plus excellent benefits.
