The town of Blackstone is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Town Accountant. This is a full-time 33.5 hour per week position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, and a minimum of three years of related municipal accounting experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing biweekly vendor and payroll warrants, preparing weekly and monthly financial reports for town departments, performing monthly account reconciliations, preparing journal entries under the direction of the Town Accountant and assist with vendor maintenance and annual 1099 reporting. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
