The town of Harwich (population 13,595, seasonal 25,000) is seeking an Assistant Town Administrator (ATA) which is a senior management position responsible for supporting the Town Administrator in the oversight, coordination, and administration of all municipal operations. The ATA serves as a key advisor and second-in-command, exercising broad authority across departments, leading initiatives, and making high-impact decisions that support the town’s strategic objectives. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new and evolving leadership team.
Assist the Town Administrator in planning, organizing, and directing municipal operations. Provide strategic and administrative support to the Town Administrator. Lead and coordinate interdepartmental projects, initiatives, and policy development. Analyze and prepare recommendations on financial, operational, and personnel matters. Represent the Town Administrator at meetings, committees, and community events. Prepare and present reports, communications, and policy analyses. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field (master’s preferred). Minimum of five years of progressively responsible municipal management or administrative experience.
The salary range will be $145,000 to $165,000
