Associate Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Town of Andover is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and oversight of public infrastructure projects. Under the direction of the Town Engineer, this position conducts field surveys, prepares construction plans and specifications, and oversees the construction and inspection of roads, water and sewer systems, drainage infrastructure, and other public and private projects. Responsibilities include reviewing construction plans for regulatory compliance, coordinating with contractors, developers, engineers, and residents, maintaining engineering records and GIS maps, and ensuring work meets applicable codes and Town standards. The position also assists with surveying, utility marking, and the preparation of easements, street layouts, and other engineering documents.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and three years of progressively responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have knowledge of civil engineering, surveying, construction practices, and public infrastructure, along with strong analytical, communication, and supervisory skills. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the Town’s infrastructure and public works projects while serving the Andover community.

Annual Salary: $89,411.76 – $106,243.59
