The town of North Andover is seeking a Building Commissioner to join its Community and Economic Development Division. Must be certified as an Inspector of Buildings/Building Commissioner in accordance with 780 CMR 110.R7. The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree or two years of technical school training along with four to six years of experience in construction at least one to two of which was in a supervisory capacity. Excellent customer service skills along with knowledge of ADA requirements, state statutes, building codes and local zoning laws are essential.
The Building Commissioner oversees all Building department operations including the permitting process; interpretation and enforcement of zoning by-laws; responding to public inquiries and concerns over state building statutes, codes, and zoning by-laws and supervising all Building department staff.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $90,426 to $129,128 commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, generous paid time off, FSAs, participation in the public pension system, and more!
