The town of Westborough seeks applicants for the full-time (40 hours/week) position of Building Inspector in the Community Development Department. Under the supervision of the Building Commissioner, this position performs administrative and inspection work related to the enforcement and interpretation of the Massachusetts Building Codes, local Zoning Bylaws, and applicable codes relating to building construction. Performs all responsibilities of a Municipal Sealer of Weights and Measures.
Qualified candidates will possess five years or more of experience in the supervision of building construction or design, or a two-year associate degree in a field related to building construction or design, or equivalent knowledge and experience. Must be certified by the Board of Building Regulations and Standards as required under MGL c.143 section 3 within 12 months of employment. Must be certified by the Division of Standards as sealer of weights and measures as required under MGL c.98 section 34 within 12 months of employment. Position requires a valid driver’s license.
Position is available July 1. The anticipated hiring range is $33.17 – $40.29 per hour based on demonstrated qualifications and experience (maximum of range is $46.33/hour).
