The City of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of City Auditor/ Director of Finance and Administration. Reporting Directly to the Mayor, this position serves as the City’s senior financial management executive and performs the duties and responsibilities associated with the City’s auditing, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, internal control, and related financial administration functions. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal or governmental finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, or financial administration, including at least three (3) years in a management or supervisory capacity. The anticipated starting salary is $124,000 – $155,000 with excellent benefits.
