Comptroller/Director of Finance

Job Description

The city of Leominster is seeking an experienced, collaborative, strategic, financial leader to serve as its next Comptroller/Director of Finance.

This position is responsible for maintaining the city’s financial well-being and stability in collaboration with the Mayor. The position directs and oversees the city’s financial operations, including accounting, internal auditing, assessing, treasury, purchasing, grant management, contributory retirement system, health insurance trust fund, and revenue collection.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; and ten years of progressively responsible municipal accounting/finance/auditing/budgeting experience in a Massachusetts Municipal environment. Masters degree in accounting, certified public accountant and/or Massachusetts Governmental Accounting Certificate preferred. Must be eligible to be bonded.

Salary range: $115,969 – $149,958
