The town of Boxford is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to serve as its next Conservation Agent, following the anticipated retirement of a long-tenured and well-respected Land Use Director.
Boxford is a rural Merrimack Valley community known for its extensive network of conservation lands and trails, spanning thousands of acres. The town has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, open space preservation, and protection of critical natural resources, including wetlands, watersheds, and wildlife corridors.
About the Role
The Conservation Agent serves as the professional staff member to the Conservation Commission and is responsible for administering and enforcing state and local wetlands regulations. The position plays a central role in protecting the Town’s environmental assets while supporting thoughtful and compliant development.
This is a self-sufficient professional role, offering a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and direct engagement with boards, staff, and the public.
