The town of Leicester is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Department Assistant in the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. Working under the direction of the Treasurer/Collector, the position’s primary focus is collection of taxes, interest and fees associated with real estate, personal property and excise collection. Occasional work on payroll functions. This position will also be responsible for various other administrative duties assigned.
Qualifications: High School graduate; College degree preferred. One to three years’ related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must qualify for bonding, possess strong computer and organizational skills and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
The town of Leicester offers competitive benefits, including a four-day work week. The hourly rate range for the position per the Town’s FY26 Compensation plan is $19.19 to $24.95 per hour (with a 2% COLA as of July 1), depending on experience and available appropriation.
