Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
This position is to perform complex supervisory, administrative, and professional work in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the Department of Public Works, including the Water Department and the water distribution system, the functions of highway, snow and ice, fleet management, cemetery, stormwater, recreational fields, trees, and all other work as required.
Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of supervisory experience in the management and operations of municipal works administration, construction, excavation, and maintenance, including water distribution and water treatment; or a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and four years of supervisory experience in the management and operations of municipal works administration, construction, excavation, and maintenance. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership, budgeting, communication, and project management skills.
Special Requirements:
Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
Minimum of a CDL Class B License with air brake endorsement
Minimum of a 2B and 1C Hoisting Engineer License
Possession of a valid Massachusetts Water Distribution 2 License (minimum of D2, Operator in Training OIT is not acceptable)
Possession of a Valid Massachusetts Water Treatment 1 License (minimum of T1, Operator in Training OIT is not acceptable)
OSHA 10 certification or better
Minimum of ICS 200 and NIMS 700 or better
Salary range: $130,000–$150,000 DOQ, with an excellent benefits package.
