DPW Laborer / Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

The town of Carlisle is seeking qualified applicants for positions within the Department of Public Works (DPW) to perform manual and skilled labor in support of construction, maintenance, and repair of the town’s public ways, parks, drainage systems, and other municipal infrastructure.

The entry-level position is Laborer. Candidates who possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be hired as a Driver/Operator/Laborer, and candidates who possess both a CDL and Hoisting Engineer License may be hired as a Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer.

Typical duties include manual labor and equipment operation related to roadway maintenance, drainage work, snow plowing and sanding, brush and tree cutting, mowing, street repair, and other Public Works activities.

Applicants without a CDL are encouraged to apply — the town will provide training, paid time, and financial support to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
