Economic Development Program Manager

Job Description

The town of Yarmouth is searching for an Economic Development Program Manager to join their Community Development team! Working under the general director of the Director of Community Development, the Economic Development Program Manager performs high level confidential, professional, and technical planning tasks by developing short and long-term economic development plans, strategies and vision for the town. This includes recruitment, growth and retention of local businesses, grant writing and program administration. Works collaboratively with the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce to develop and maintain tourism and economic indicators that shape existing and future programming. Oversee and participates in the Community and Economic Development Committee meetings. Recommends use of the Tourism Revenue Preservation Funds.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in public administration, economics, urban or regional planning, or related field with five to seven years of planning or economic development experience at the local, regional or state level; combination of private and public sector experience desirable; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical requirements include office work and light to moderate physical effort in the performance of field investigations/site visits.
