Job Description
- The Town of Needham is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the full-time position of Fleet Supervisor. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Public Works/Operations, the incumbent is responsible for leading and directing the repair and maintenance of Public Works vehicles, machines, motorized equipment and radio equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan, direct, and organize the work of the Fleet Division within the DPW, overseeing daily operations including the scheduling, assigning, and supervision of the repair and maintenance of municipal vehicles and equipment.
- Inspect work, maintain records and manage electronic vehicle management software platforms.
- Oversee safety inspections and registration process of all municipal vehicles and motorized equipment.
- Manage fleet and equipment parts inventory, Town’s fleet/fuel management system, GPS software and the Town’s electric vehicle charging systems.
- Plan and prepare division budget, cost tracking, procurement efforts and related activities.
- Prepare reports and records to include costs of labor and parts, vehicle accident reports and insurance requirements, activity reports, damage estimates, diesel, and gas and oil consumption records utilizing electronic fuel tracking system;
- Mandatory participation in the town’s Snow & Ice program.
