GIS Manager

Job Description

The Town of Dedham seeks qualified candidates for the position of GIS Manager. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the municipal GIS for the Town of Dedham in a highly responsible, professional, managerial, administrative, technical, and analytical position which is responsible for providing management, leadership, vision, coordination, and operation, as well as hands-on stewardship and map production of the Town of Dedham’s Geographic Information System.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university with course-level work in geography, information systems, cartography or related field.
• A minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in professional GIS positions including supervisory responsibilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Esri products to include ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server an ArcGIS Online.
• Demonstrated experience in cartographic map production and Python scripting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Specifies, operates, maintains and plans all GIS resources of the Town.
• Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of geographic databases.
• Maintains all GIS application software.
• Provides technical support to other Town departments, boards, committees and commissions.
• Initiates, maintains and updates maps and records utilizing GIS software.
• Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements technical and administrative solutions.
