Job Description

The town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, benefits eligible Health Director position in the Health Department. The Health Director oversees and is responsible for the operations of the department of Health with guidance from the Board of Health.  This position administers federal, state, local health, animal welfare, and environmental codes, laws and policies, provides a variety of inspectional services, guides and participates in long-range planning and development of policies and by-laws.

Successful candidates will have a master’s degree in public health, environmental health, environmental science or other related field and seven years of related experience of which at least four must be in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience is required. Registration as a sanitarian is required. Must be eligible to obtain required Massachusetts Certifications as a condition of employment. Residency is not required.

The anticipated hiring range is $46.21/hr – $49.02/hr, commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt position governed by the Personnel By-Law and Employee Handbook.
