Medium Equipment Operator

Job Description

The town of Wellesley is looking for a full-time Medium Equipment Operator for the Highway division. The incumbent operates and maintains vehicles and equipment; performs semi-skilled building and construction work on streets, sidewalks, catch basins, etc.; and is required to participate in snow removal, ice control, standby, emergency, and call-in duty. Ensure proper operation of all equipment and follow all required safety procedures.

The incumbent must possess a valid MA Class B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements. Other requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; a good employment record; the possession of or ability to obtain a valid a Hoisting Engineer’s License classes 1C, 2C and 4E within six months of hire; proficiency in the operation of Class B vehicles and medium equipment; and the ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and use hand and power tools.

Salary range is $23.42 – $31.52 per hour, depending on qualifications.
