Job Description

The Communications Department keeps residents informed while promoting city programs, services, events, and initiatives through strategic communications, multimedia storytelling, and community engagement.

The Multimedia Communications & Events Specialist supports the city’s communications and community engagement efforts through multimedia storytelling, event planning, and public outreach. This is a dual-function position responsible for both the city’s multimedia communications and the planning and execution of city-sponsored events and community engagement initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with city departments, this position captures the day-to-day work of local government through photography, videography, writing, and digital media while assisting with the planning and execution of community events, public meetings, and special initiatives.

This is a highly visible, hands-on position for a creative and organized professional who enjoys both storytelling and event production. The successful candidate will move between the office and the community, creating multimedia content one day and coordinating a public event the next.

The position requires strong project management skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with city departments, residents, vendors, community organizations, and elected officials.
