Outreach Social Worker/Resource Coordinator Council on Aging

The town of Stoughton is seeking applicants to fill the position of Outreach Social Worker/Resource Coordinator within the Council on Aging. This is a full-time (35 hours a week), benefited, union position, working under the general direction of the Council on Aging Director.

Duties:

This position performs social service and administrative work in maintaining contact with the town’s senior citizens and those with disabilities. This includes assessing their needs, providing a wide variety of information, and making referrals as necessary.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; Two or more years as a professional with experience in social services, health, or related field preferably with seniors; Knowledge of local resources and departmental laws/rules/regulations;

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to manage crisis and sensitive issues. Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information; Basic computer skills; SHINE certification is a plus; Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License; and CORI check required.

Starting Salary: $40.65/Hr.
